BURN INFORMATION

This burn line is updated daily after 9 am. DEQ determines which days burning is allowed.
In case of emergency, dial 911.

Lyons Fire District is in an open burning control area with established burn seasons: 
Projected open burning seasons dependent on fire conditions.


SPRING: ​March 1 through June 15
​FALL: October 15 through December 15


During burn seasons, call the burn line number above prior to burning to verify days and times burning is allowed. Do NOT leave burn piles unattended. Keep burn piles small. Make sure you have a water source readily available .

backyard or open burning

Open outdoor fires and burn barrels, including burning of yard debris.

demolition burning

The burning of any material actually resulting from or produced by partial or complete destruction or tearing down of any man-made structure or the clearing of any site for land improvement or cleanup.
PERMIT REQUIRED

agricultural burning

Open burning of any agricultural waste (material generated or used by an agricultural operation, such as grass and grain crops).
PERMIT REQUIRED

Field  burning

The burning of residue left from the harvest of a grass seed crop is regulated by the Oregon Department of Agriculture. Please call the Department of Agriculture (ODA) if you have questions or complaints.

recreational burning

Warming fires in fire pits, fire rings, and barbecues. 
Burning of trash is illegal and always prohibited.
If you have any questions as to how your burn is classified, contact Lyons RFPD during office hours before you burn.
